I love depicting our beautiful Australian landscapes through my abstract paintings. As much as I love it, the Australian bush does have a more sinister side to it which occurs in the Summertime when we get the big bush fires come through. The destruction and loss of animal life, humans and plant life is devastating and heartbreaking to watch. I wanted to incorporate beauty and destruction in the one painting for real visual impact by the use of contrasting colour and energetic brushstrokes.
