'Take Me Home' speaks to the relationship between Earth and the rest of the universe - how particles and matter travel in, around and through in ways which we may not yet completely understand. The piece plays at how human beings perceive aspects of the universe. The title, 'Take Me Home', itself speaks to the different interpretations of the phrase and how some individuals may feel more at home on Earth, while others dream of being anywhere but - either because of a hope that there are better things elsewhere, a spiritual connection to something larger, or a lust for the unknown.
The piece is created using alcohol inks on wooden art board with the round shapes being reminiscent of the planets and structures in the galaxy. The piece was then coated in two layers of resin - the first layer embedded with fine holographic glitter, creating a brilliant twinkle at different angles and representing the stars. The funnelling shape in the artwork represents the inherent draw that humans have towards space and the universe.
'Take Me Home' would provide a stunning conversation piece in any home, with the glamorous mirror finish of the resin top coat providing an instant eye-catcher!
