This highly detailed drawing encapsulates the “reaping” or harvesting time where the abundant garden is bursting with ripened gourds, which hang heavily on the vine. The central figure is carrying a chrysalis that is ready to transform into a butterfly. Some butterflies have already burst forth and can be seen weaving through the foliage.
The butterfly is symbolic of transformation and of faith. As we undergo transitions in our own lives, the metaphoric seeds that we plant today will no doubt become our fruits of tomorrow.
