This piece was inspired by the quiet beauty of shared moments by the sea. I wanted to capture that feeling of standing still with someone you love — where the world feels wide, calm and full of possibility. The ocean has always felt grounding to me, and painting it allows me to express both freedom and connection. Those two small figures against the vast horizon represent how tiny we are in the world, yet how meaningful our moments together can be.

Inspired by her childhood love and connection to nature, as her main subject Amela paints floral abstractions full of texture and colour but also loves the freedom of painting abstract pieces, and drawing inspiration from patterns, shapes and movement that have a positive effect on our moods and emotions.
She has been interested in art from a very young age and was often acknowledged for her illustrations throughout her schooling years. She participated in mural paintings at her high school and was often selected to have her art on displays.
Amela loves to work with acrylics but also loves to add other mediums to her work and enjoys exploring with different brushes, palette knives, finger painting, scraping or anything she can get her hands on at that time.
When Amela paints, she enters a place of calm and peace and hopes that her work evokes feelings of happiness and joy to all that view it.
