Artwork Description

El Toro was aptly named when the piece was finished and a viewer saw a bull running through a crowd. This makes sense as the lines are not numbers to me but unspoken words and entire conversations between people in a crowd.

Painted on high quality archival Arches watercolour paper. Can be framed in white or in Tasmanian Oak.
Comes with a certificate of authenticity, signed.

Artist Bio

Lean in, listen and find connections.

Amena Bandukwala’s artwork has developed as a conversation with her viewers. It’s an expression of her inner dialogue and experiences–using intuitive markings, linguistic imagery and movement to draw people in.

The details reveal hidden layers. Her marks are frivolous but controlled, ardent yet contemplative. Splatters of ink reveal moments of genuine expression, inviting people to listen, feel and relate.

Intentionally subdued and monochromatic, Amena restricts the palette to avoid detracting from the conversation. In a world full of colour, chaos and emotion, her artworks offer space to breathe and see connections between our inner and outer worlds.
