Artwork Description

Summer at Lake Manchester I, II, III is a three-part series designed to bring the cooling stillness of the water into your home. Each 25 x 25 cm panel works together to form a unified abstract landscape, mirroring the quiet energy of the reservoir during a hot summer. The dominant blue-green palette and crisp whites act as a visual relief, offering a sense of freshness and airiness to any interior wall. By focusing on the grassy shoreline and the reflected ridge line, the series provides a restful focal point that suggests the simple joy of a day by the lake. This collection serves as a daily reminder of careless summer afternoons on the water, making it a perfect choice for creating a peaceful, restorative atmosphere in your living space.

artist statement
I like to create uplifting and happy art full of vitality to lift the spirit and make everyone feel comfortable. Interest is added through detailed line work, dots, dashes, hatches and patterns. These details keep the viewer engaged and lead on a journey of discovery in my paintings. For this reason, crisp, hard-edge lines, purposefully placed shapes and carefully constructed colour palettes are hallmarks of my work.
I use my passion for bright colour schemes to express vigour and positive energy. I also create paintings that use soft colours to convey delight and bliss. I find painting is an almost meditative process where I can slow down, relax and reconnect with nature.
