Artwork Description

In ‘Tune In, Zone Out’ , a young woman is captured in the flow of urban life, earphones in and mobile phone in hand, as she navigates the buzzing streets. Her posture suggests focus and determination, as if she's on her way to work, yet her expression remains cool and composed, hinting at the music that transports her away from the daily grind. The abstract city references in the background evoke a sense of motion, energy, and vibrance, symbolizing the constant hum of the city around her.
For the owner of this painting, Tune In, ‘Zone Out’ brings a sense of modern-day empowerment and connection to the dynamic rhythm of life. The piece reflects the balance between hustle and personal space, perfectly encapsulating the feeling of taking a moment for yourself, even in the fast-paced world. It’s more than just a portrait—it’s a celebration of independence, ambition, and the ability to stay grounded while moving forward. This painting is a perfect reminder to embrace the flow, listen to your own rhythm, and thrive amidst the chaos.

artist statement
I like to create uplifting and happy art full of vitality to lift the spirit and make everyone feel comfortable. Interest is added through detailed line work, dots, dashes, hatches and patterns. These details keep the viewer engaged and lead on a journey of discovery in my paintings. For this reason, crisp, hard-edge lines, purposefully placed shapes and carefully constructed colour palettes are hallmarks of my work.
I use my passion for bright colour schemes to express vigour and positive energy. I also create paintings that use soft colours to convey delight and bliss. I find painting is an almost meditative process where I can slow down, relax and reconnect with nature.
