Coucou tells me she's French and very coquettish. I wanted her to have tousled dark curls suggesting she didn't care too much as she knows she can get away with anything. I see her as a sexy, confidant, beautiful woman, perhaps a Parisian, who might be wearing a pretty dress as she cycles down a winding street off the boulevard. I had to paint confidently with no layering as heavy watercolour paper is less forgiving than canvas. I love painting wild hair as it is a throwback to my fashion design days.
