Meet "Smooth"—pretty cool, right? He gives off this vibe like he's a bit bored with it all. Tattoos were a must, and those lively, short brushstrokes add some real energy to him. I layered him up with colours, giving him depth and a backstory that unfolds as you look.
It's funny; I didn't realise until I was nearly done that he insisted on residing in the 'cool side' of the colour spectrum. My portraits talk to me during the process, letting me know if they prefer warmth or coolness. He turned out to be such a joy to paint.
This piece could easily fit into various spaces. Picture it in a sleek floating frame—mid-tone timber or jet black would complement it beautifully.
