I have a flowering plum in my front garden that puts on a magnificent display for two weeks every year. Truthfully, it's a bit boring for the rest of the year ... but boy, is that two weeks worth it. It's often windy at that time of year and the flowers seem to just fly off before I'm ready. But while they're there, I just love that tree and last year I just couldn't help channel that into an abstracted ode to the flowering plum! I was also playing with frames within frames around that time and the white frame, whilst providing a bit of structure to the craziness of the flowering plum also references a window frame.
