Artwork Description

This piece invites the viewer into a hidden world, one that feels both discovered and remembered. A stairway emerges through a lush, layered canopy, winding its way through bursts of colour, as though it has quietly grown there over time. The surrounding leaves and blooms feel alive with movement, gently guiding the eye downward, deeper into a place that exists somewhere between reality and imagination.

There’s a sense of quiet magic here, the kind found in small pauses, in looking a little closer, in allowing yourself to wander. *The Enchanted Stairway* is about following curiosity without needing to know where it leads, trusting that beauty and calm can be found along the way.

In a home, this piece brings a feeling of escape and softness, like a doorway into a more whimsical, peaceful state of mind, tucked just beneath the surface of the everyday.

Artist Bio

My paintings are vibrant, bold and eye-catching. I love bright colours that evoke a feeling of joy and delight!

I paint imaginative urban-themed environments, landscapes, gardens, wilderness, mountains and character houses.

The palettes of my paintings are consistently strikingly vivid that bring energy and life to my harmonious compositions.

My work leans towards an abstract stylisation with simplified shapes and block colours, but this is balanced with intricate details and patterns. I like to think of it as a maximalist-minimalist style.

Each piece focuses on a balance between the foreground and background which guides the viewer through the paintings.

My background is in landscape architecture and urban design. My passion for my place making career is an influence on my work. I focus on creating an aspirational “sense of place” and utopic vision, mostly set around my home in the Moreton Bay region in South-East Queensland.
