Artwork Description

“Twilight Mooring” captures a moment of profound stillness, suspended between sky and sea. A moody purple dusk stretches across the canvas, its brooding tones softened by gentle wisps of pink cloud. Below, the deep sea echoes the sky’s hush, painted in rich, shadowy hues. At its centre floats a solitary white-outlined sailboat—its sails lowered, at rest. No wind stirs, no waves break. The boat is moored not to land, but to the quiet of the evening itself. This work invites contemplation, evoking themes of surrender, solitude, and the calm that arrives when movement gives way to reflection. A visual lullaby for those drawn to the beauty of in-between moments.

Artist Bio

My paintings are vibrant, bold and eye-catching. I love bright colours that evoke a feeling of joy and delight!

I paint imaginative urban-themed environments, landscapes, gardens, wilderness, mountains and character houses.

The palettes of my paintings are consistently strikingly vivid that bring energy and life to my harmonious compositions.

My work leans towards an abstract stylisation with simplified shapes and block colours, but this is balanced with intricate details and patterns. I like to think of it as a maximalist-minimalist style.

Each piece focuses on a balance between the foreground and background which guides the viewer through the paintings.

My background is in landscape architecture and urban design. My passion for my place making career is an influence on my work. I focus on creating an aspirational “sense of place” and utopic vision, mostly set around my home in the Moreton Bay region in South-East Queensland.
