Signed on the front.
A personal expression of the transition from depression. Vague lines of the faceless right hand figure, depict apathy and hopelessness. The sense of self gradually emerges, characterised by bolder, defined lines of the left hand face. The limited palette mirrors the absence of colour, when depressed, while cool blues represent the chilling nature of depression. Vertical lines represent a veil separating the outer self from the withdrawn complexity within. The work’s ethereal quality echoes the vagueries of mood, which underpin my intangible state of mind, emerging from depression.
