I'm an artist with an ongoing practice in painting and animated film.
My work is shaped by a life lived across many continents, but always immersed in the natural world. I spent my early childhood in Sweden, where entire days I disappeared into the forests—learning the quiet language of trees, moss, insects and birds. Later, living in the outback bush of Africa, that connection to nature expanded into something more raw and elemental. The last 2 decades in Australia have hugely expanded my experiences of nature and the amazing life forms here.
Whether on land or beneath the ocean’s surface while snorkeling, I’ve always been drawn to those moments where light transforms the ordinary into something almost otherworldly.
Art has been a constant thread throughout my life. I was always drawing, sculpting and building—convinced early on that I would one day work in film creating visual effects. Although my path briefly diverged into the study of computer science and mathematics, I ultimately returned to a creative career through computer animation. Over many years working in film and television, I developed a specialized focus on lighting—how it shapes form, defines texture, and evokes emotion. That experience continues to inform everything I create today.
Alongside this, photography has become an essential part of my practice. I am particularly drawn to capturing natural environments—moments where light reveals something fleeting, atmospheric, and often unseen at first glance. This fascination with light, developed across both digital and observational practices, is at the core of my artistic approach.
My paintings bring these influences together. Inspired by both impressionist and abstract traditions, I explore the interplay of light, colour and movement to create works that feel immersive and alive. Rather than depicting a specific place, I aim to evoke the sensation of being within it—the warmth of sunlight, the shifting tones of water, the layered complexity of natural environments.
Ultimately, my work is about perception: how we experience the world through light, and how those moments of beauty and stillness can be translated into something lasting.
