This work is inspired by the high plains around Kosciusko National park and the remnants of snowgums after the fires. The painting depicts a landscape in recovery and the energy of the open high misty landscapes around Perisher and Charlotte Pass. This is one of a series of paintings exploring the landscape of the Australian alps. The painting is framed in a an American ash shadow box frame framed by Southern Buoy studio.
My name is Andrea Hamann. I am an artist based in the Southern Highlands of NSW. I relocated to the highlands after spending the last 15 years in Tropical places. I work mainly in Acrylic on Canvas or board, but also in Mixed Media on Paper, and more recently monoprints . My subject matter varies, however is generally inspired by the natural world around me.
