Acrylic on canvas
Signed on the front.
This artwork is influenced by the rich colours of the Australian landscape, of the veins of rock and the powerful storms that rush across the landscape.
Each stroke of the brush shows the wildness of the land. depicting the rich complexity of the earth and storms above. The painting has loose brushstrokes forming a rich earthy ground plane with a smoky grey blue sky.
The painting is named for Terra, a word for earth and the land, and Tempestas the ancient Roman goddess of storms and sudden changes in weather.
The painting evokes a connection between earth and sky and the storms that rush across, sending rain in to sandstone chasms, and carving out the landscape.
