“The ground has secrets” is part of a series of works exploring the unknown depths of the ground plane, of the unknown of tangled roots, old car bodies, tunnels and fissures of archaeology unknown. It celebrates both the life and the madness, the rich beauty of the earth.

My name is Andrea Hamann. I am an artist based in the Southern Highlands of NSW. I relocated to the highlands after spending the last 15 years in Tropical places. I work mainly in Acrylic on Canvas or board, but also in Mixed Media on Paper, and more recently monoprints . My subject matter varies, however is generally inspired by the natural world around me.
