This painting is inspired by the ever present power of nature and the cycle of burn and rebirth in the Australian bush. It is evocative if the heat of the landscape, and the last stages of a powerful fire. There is heat and movement in this painting, showing the beauty in the fury of the fire, a reminder of the power and the unpredictability of the Australian bush.

My name is Andrea Hamann. I am an artist based in the Southern Highlands of NSW. I relocated to the highlands after spending the last 15 years in Tropical places. I work mainly in Acrylic on Canvas or board, but also in Mixed Media on Paper, and more recently monoprints . My subject matter varies, however is generally inspired by the natural world around me.
