Woolshed Bay

As a child we would drive out to Lake Cairn Curren in the central goldfields region of Victoria every saturday of summer to go sailing. The dry landscape and the blue sky surrounding the lake etched into my memory. Woolshed bay was around the corner from the sailing club, surrounded by low hills, golden with dry grass and scattered trees.

This painting is evocative of many places or scenes in the Australian landscape, impressions from a lifetime of road trips across this beautiful country.

My name is Andrea Hamann. I am an artist based in the Southern Highlands of NSW. I relocated to the highlands after spending the last 15 years in Tropical places. I work mainly in Acrylic on Canvas or board, but also in Mixed Media on Paper, and more recently monoprints . My subject matter varies, however is generally inspired by the natural world around me.
