Greek Island Church

A Greek island Church scene from a few years back when I spent some time on my holidays in Koufonisia.
This image was taken walking on the path next to the church on a sunny day off August.
I loved the white walls of the church contrasting with the very blue sky that only in Greece you can experience.
The empty chair at the end of a path is indeed evocative.
It suggests a sense of memory, as if the chair holds a place for someone who is absent but not forgotten.
It’s a powerful symbol that can evoke feelings of solitude, reflection, or expectation.

Was a very special moment so I decided to paint it to transmit to others my unique experience and sensations.

Hello, my name is Andrea Pomponio, an Italian Architect based in Melbourne.
Since I was a child, I was inspired by my father's passion for art and paint artworks.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Architecture Italy in 1993, I started my Italian career from 1993 till 2006.
In 2006 I decided to move to Melbourne for a new chapter of my life.
Passion for Design, Architecture, creativity and my love for art, drawings and sketching driven me along all my whole life.
I love to create artworks, including oil paintings, sketches, and drawings.
I love what I do and I want to share my passion through my work with who can look what I see.
I am deeply motivated to produce elegant and beautiful artworks for others to experience and to be treasured for years to come.
