El Nino has a strong horizontal composition. Bands of horizontal colour have been laid across the surface.

Ther are four artworks that make up the quartet of paintings. The dominant colours are blue, magenta and warm yellow. There is a strong horizontal direction occurring in each painting composition.

Strong dark areas are found on the left side of the composition with a mid blue are in the centre of the composition. On the right hand side there is a remnant of a frond /leaf shape.

In the top half there are diagonal layers of darker colours moving across the composition.
