Blue Mist

'Blue Mist' is a powerful semi-abstract impressionist artwork which captures the elements of a traditionally painted landscape in primary colours and form. Thematically, the semi-literal landscape gives hints of the Australian outback in the colour range used. Mimicking an encaustic painting technique, the artwork consists of multiple layers of transparent coloured oil glazes on a lightly sculpted sealed canvas. It is similar in style and technique to my 'Lineas' series of paintings, (Minus the ink streak technique), with artist quality oils being used in place of acrylics. This visually absorbing and reflective artwork is unframed but as it is fully painted around the edges, it can be happily hung without an external frame, making it an affordable and eminently attainable investment.
