Artwork Description

Impressionist soft pastel painting of the demolished Fimiston Post office, circa 1991. I wanted to capture the history of the Kalgoorlie Boulder region as many notable landmarks I was familiar with were being relocated or demolished at that time to make way for the Kalgoorlie Super Pit. I captured many of these soon to be ghosted landmarks in both photo and painting format, including four or five mining headframes dotted around the area. Sadly, the rest have become vague memories of a bygone golden era.
