Artwork Description

An abstraction inspired by the bark and lichen from the silver birches of Sweden. The work looks at the connected beauty of the bark, breaking open to reveal the hidden warmth seen by the orange threads, offset by the coolness of the light green lichen that is ever present in this landscape. The idea of the work is to create a sense on intrigue and the celebration of midsummer as a festival of youth, joy, and new connections.
