Artwork Description

Pop Art inspired Music portrait , part of a series of works championing female rock n rollers entitled ‘Women Who Rock’. The woodblock has been hand printed with a press by the artist using oil based ink on quality acid free paper. The finished works have been individually hand signed in pencil by the artist.

Artist Bio

Andrew Sewell is a Brisbane based Contemporary Printmaker primarily working in colour woodblock prints. He specialises in creating brightly coloured highly stylised, Pop Art inspired ‘Music Portraits’, that celebrate our modern day deities. Always striving to create his own iconic images of the musicians he depicts.

Currently based at Yurara Art Studio in the Redlands, Andrew is working on a body of work entitled; Women Who Rock, dedicated to championing the success of Women in a male dominated music industry. Focusing on Female Rock n Roll legends of the past and present, as well as local rising stars from Brisbane’s ever booming live music scene.
