Artwork Description

This work is to be one of a series of works, entitled Women Who Rock. Celebrating female rock n rollers and championing their success amongst a male dominated industry.

Artist Bio

Andrew Sewell is a Brisbane based Contemporary Printmaker primarily working in colour woodblock prints. He specialises in creating brightly coloured highly stylised, Pop Art inspired ‘Music Portraits’, that celebrate our modern day deities. Always striving to create his own iconic images of the musicians he depicts.

Currently based at Yurara Art Studio in the Redlands, Andrew is working on a body of work entitled; Women Who Rock, dedicated to championing the success of Women in a male dominated music industry. Focusing on Female Rock n Roll legends of the past and present, as well as local rising stars from Brisbane’s ever booming live music scene.
