It would be nice if flowers could last longer, so l could make many paintings out of this bouquet. With the focus on a smaller part, this painting was an attempt to portray a feeling of joy, rather than copy reality.

Influenced by the modern Impressionists, I work with oils and prefer to paint landscapes 'Alla Prima' and Still Life in the studio. While painting Alla Prima I try to capture the light, colour and vibe of a seascape or landscape, so I can share the joy of it with the viewer. What fascinates me with Still Life is discovering a whole world in the subtle nuances of flowers with their different patterns and colours.
