'Giwang' - Give you the moon.

Meaning- Moon in Wiradjuri.

As a girl I was told stories about how the moon came to be, It was said in our dreamtime that the Sun & the Moon was a tragic love story of two partners who were never meant to be, So their tribes banished them to the sky, Making the woman the sun who could only come out in the day & making the moon the man, who could only come out at night. The sun woman and the moon man spend their lives waiting for the only chance they get to meet again, in an eclipse.
