Murribir- (Heaven) & The Clouds of Magellan.
There is many Dreamtime stories about the stars & the clouds and how they come to be, this painting is a personal representation of the ‘Clouds of Magellan’ a Dreamtime story about two dwarf galaxies orbiting earth who are believed to be a mother & daughter who were captured by our wind spirit, turned into brolga birds and sent to the sky and became the two clouds. Our people believed that the clouds of Magellan were the opening to Murribir (heaven).
