Dreamtime has it that three sisters, 'Meehni', 'Wimlah' and 'Gunnedoo' lived in the Jamison Valley as members of the Katoomba tribe.

The beautiful young sisters fell in love with three brothers from a neighbouring tribe, Nepean.
Law had forbidden them to marry.

The three brothers were so upset that they captured & forced the sisters to stay with them causing a colossal tribal battle between mobs.

A witchdoctor from the Katoomba tribe turned the sisters into stone to keep them safe from the brothers & the other tribesman & whilst he had intended to turn them back to their enchanting human form, he was killed & took with him to his death the only hope of transformation for the sisters.

The sisters remain in their magnificent rock formation as a reminder of this battle for generations to come.
