Artwork Description

My brother inspired this painting as he is a single man living alone and wished he could have a dog in his life, but circumstances stop him from having this.A dog is man's best friend and I wanted to paint his favourite dog and as a dog is always his happiest on a beach I thought yes let's put him on a beach.I have tried to convey movement in the painting by having the waves rolling in and the sands shifting around but the dog is lying still whilst everything moves around him.I feel it is a piece of art that may inspire a doglover to take their dog to the beach for a run and play. This piece will bring colour and energy to a plain space

Artist Bio

Angela Goodhue is an artist who likes to use pastels, pen and ink and recently ,acrylic paints for her art
She works in the healthcare industry and sees art as an escape from the realities of life so
tends to prefer abstract and impressionistic art forms. She has had little formal training but has been
drawing since she began talking .At highschool she did technical drawing and had planned a life as a draftswoman
but this wasn't her passion. Skills gained were perspective in her drawings .She attended a short course in pen and
ink sketching where she learnt dot and the use of texture through small marks and patterns
To create interest in her drawings ,this can be seen in her style where she also likes to use dots and marks to
indicate kmovement in her drawings and paintings.Despite no real formal training she has developed her own style and lists
Van Gogh and Rosina Wachtmeister amongst some of her influencers.
