Angela Mezzatesta is an emerging artist living and working in Naarm-Melbourne. In 2023 she graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) with Distinction. Before embarking on her art practice Angela worked in the fashion industry as a product designer for over twenty-five years. Her work experience has made her well aware of how capitalism and consumerism have contributed to a human disconnection from the natural environment. Hence, her art practice focuses on themes related to ecology, memory, and place, with experimental processes that explore the use of materiality. She has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions and competitions. In 2023 she won the Chapman and Bailey Painting Award, The Julia Ciccarone Highly Commended Painting Award, and second place for the Fortyfivedownstairs Emerging Artists Award. Angela continues to exhibit her works nationally.
