Artwork Description

This work sits within my ongoing exploration of the human form, focusing on quiet, transitional moments rather than fixed identity.

Influenced by observational drawing and tonal study, the piece leans into restraint, allowing light, shadow, and negative space to carry the weight of the composition. The figure is not fully resolved, inviting the viewer to engage with what is suggested rather than defined.

This artwork is created on 50 x 70 cm paper. The drawn image is intentionally set within a 1 cm margin from the edge, allowing for framing flexibility.

The artwork is an original piece, and all copyright remains with the artist.

I was born in Brisbane, where I spent my formative years in the Redlands, a region known for its scenic coastline and lush bushland. Growing up in the Redlands, I was inspired by the natural beauty and tranquility of my surroundings, which played a significant role in nurturing my creative spirit. During my high school years I discovered my talent for drawing, igniting my lifelong passion for creating and the arts.

After finishing high school, my life took a new direction as I became a devoted mother of four children. My focus shifted to raising my family, and for over two decades, I set aside my artistic pursuits to dedicate myself fully to motherhood and family life.

More than 20 years later I rekindled my love for art. This return to art marked a significant and inspiring chapter in my life, proving that it's never too late to pursue one's passion.
