This work explores the tension between control and release. The figure is held in a poised, almost restrained posture, while the lower half dissolves into sweeping, chaotic marks. There is a contrast between structure and instinct, the body remains composed, but the movement beneath it speaks to something less contained.
The palette was chosen to hold warmth against disruption. Earth tones ground the piece, while the teal arc cuts through as a moment of clarity or interruption. The gestural marks were intentionally left raw, allowing the process to remain visible and unresolved.
Influenced by movement, emotion, and the physical act of mark-making, this piece sits somewhere between figure study and abstraction. It reflects an interest in how the body can carry both stillness and turbulence at once.
This artwork is created on 50 x 70 cm paper. The drawn image is intentionally set within a 1 cm margin from the edge, allowing for framing flexibility.
