Artwork Description

I have spent many years as a nurse/midwife and this has intensified my passion for the body, particularly the feminine form. I also feel strongly about equality for everyone regardless of sex, race, skin colour or sexual preferences. My artwork always has a meaning that says something about me whether it’s life as a woman, roles and expectations or emotions from my life experiences. I feel very grateful when people engage with my art and hope it’s inspiring and empowering.
Living on a farm often means waiting for the rain to come and it does seem to be getting worse with the changes in our climate. I like to paint what is close to my heart and I believe that what we do to the land we also do to ourselves.
This is an evocative piece that challenges ourselves and others, sparking debate and discussion about how we can improve or lessen our impact on the environment.

Artist Bio

Hi I am an artist living in rural Australia who loves to tell stories in my artworks. Stories that define us and our links to the environment. Stories that are fun, quirky and thought or conversation provoking. After growing up in South Australia I now live on a farm in north western Victoria.
My passion for art led me to complete formal studies through Curtin University where I obtained a degree in Fine Arts & Visual Culture. The artwork style I have covers realism, surrealism, impressionism and abstract, mostly using oils on linen. I love colours, people and places using them to capture stories and emotions that are often unexpected. My art is informed by my local surroundings, my love of dancing and how we are linked to the land we live in. I love the Australian landscape, the way dance movement can mimic nature and the visual language that expresses these combinations.
My artworks are unique one of a kind pieces and not replicated in print because I want my paintings to go to people who are after something that no one else has and who appreciate fine art. “
Artworks are held in private collections nationally and internationally.
Artists that inspire Angela include Leonardo da Vinci, Dorothea Tanning and Salvador Dali to name a few.
