Artwork Description

“Reef Siesta” is inspired by the Great Barrier Reef where I live in Far North Queensland.

I focused on vibrant pastel colours to bring out a happy vibe in my abstract interpretation of the Reef.

I love using different patterns and marks that create more texture and life.

I used quality acrylic paint and Posca pens for finer details.

Would look lovely in a light wooden floating frame.

Artist Bio

Australian artist, Angelika Pacek has lived most of her life in Tropical Far North QLD surrounded by Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef .

Always unsettled in jobs and looking for an adventure, she went on to work for 6 years on a Prawn Trawler in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
After fishing, she signed up for a certificate III in Visual Arts at TAFE. All through school she adored art and loved every form it came in so TAFE was great for getting her creative juices running again.

From that moment on her love for acrylic painting grew, focusing on abstract, landscape and figurative.

Angelika's art is inspired by sea creatures, the ocean, women’s figurative forms, nature and botanicals that is mixed with patterns and tribal marks.
