ABOUT “Stay”

A striking piece depicting the sorrow of goodbyes, “Stay” expresses the emotion felt through loss and grief. Surrounded by bright colour and with the little bird for a companion, we are reminded that, despite difficulties, life yet contains beauty and hope.

“Stay” was a comfort to me during a challenging time in my life. I hope this work comforts someone else in turn.

TECHNICAL ASPECTS

Rich, taffy-like layers of acrylic are painted in flattened perspective upon stretched canvas. Pencil is used for the delicate facial features, before layers of protective varnish are added.

This work is ready to hang with sturdy D-rings and wire.

The sides are painted lilac to harmonise with the surface image.

I have signed this work on the front, with year and title on the back. A certificate of authenticity accompanies this work. .
