Mixed Media on stretched canvas, ready to hang.
Signed certificate of authenticity.
Encouraged to 'go big', the piece began as an exercise in experimenting with spray paint.
Other mediums were added during warm summer evenings spent with close friends in the backyard. Geometric patterns emerged using collage, which naturally led to increasing the textural elements and paper sculpting, all the while remaining inspired by instinct & my emotional responses to music.
It wasn't until I had placed the canvas outside my front door to give my eye a change of perspective for a few weeks, did the protagonist & his anxious sidekick present themselves. One happy to keep moving forward towards his uncertain future, the other haunted by & unable to take his eyes off what may be following from his past.
" He ain't heavy - and he's not even my brother, but he sure looks like he knows where he's going so I'm sticking with him. "
