Artwork Description

Quiet Strength explores the quiet strength and emotional complexity held within the feminine form. The figure, viewed from behind, is layered with textured neon tones that emerge against a deep blue background, balancing energy, vulnerability, and stillness within the same surface. The partially abstracted head introduces a sense of mystery, inviting the viewer to reflect not only on the figure itself, but on the unseen inner world it may represent.

Inspired by themes of presence, resilience, and identity, the work considers how strength is often carried quietly rather than performed outwardly. The textured marks across the body suggest movement, memory, and lived experience, while the rich colour palette brings a contemporary and expressive quality to the piece.

With its bold yet calming presence, Quiet Strength can lift a space through colour, texture, and emotional depth. It works beautifully as a statement piece in contemporary interiors, adding warmth, conversation, and quiet sophistication to living spaces, bedrooms, or creative environments

Unburdened Bodies celebrates women’s strength, presence, and resilience. Each figure is sculpted in textured mediums over painted fields of colour, existing unposed, unclaimed, and unsexualised — a quiet assertion of autonomy and dignity.
The series explores reflection, vitality, and the complexity of feminine expression, with works ranging from a large contemplative piece gazing toward a blue horizon to smaller, vibrant studies of women in moments of quiet energy and introspection. These works reclaim the female form from the gaze that objectifies, instead presenting women as whole, sovereign, and deeply human.

Rooted in my research on women’s experiences in male-dominated industries (Rising from the Dust), and inspired by feminist thinkers like bell hooks and Hélène Cixous, Unburdened Bodies is a gentle, yet powerful, celebration of feminine energy, autonomy, and poetic presence.
Here, women simply are — and that is enough.
