Anita Bentley was born in Adelaide, SA. Her interest and ability in art showed at an early age however she was encouraged to pursue an academic education, rather than artistic, which ultimately lead to working in the field of civil engineering for many years. To further her engineering career Anita graduated from the University of South Australia in 1992 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
It wasn’t until 2002, after a successful engineering career, that Anita began to seriously pursue her life’s ambition to be a professional artist. This time her preferred medium was watercolour! Anita paints in a traditional representational style and her paintings are held in many private collections in Australia and overseas. She is represented by David Sumner Gallery in Adelaide.
Anita is a juror for the International Watercolour Society, a member of the SA Watercolour Society, Adelaide Art Society, Royal South Australian Society of Arts and the Australian Guild of Realist Artists. Her work can be seen on the web at http://anitajbentley.blogspot.com.au/
