The Earth Below

The Earth Below is a mixed media monochromatic work depicting what lies above and below the surface. I wanted the mesh to suggest a sense of undulating swelling and contracting weaves as if etched into the canvas. The black inky surface is finished with 2 light coats of satin varnish.

Joanna Landman is mainly known for her abstract works which tend to lean towards biomorphic forms reminiscent of nature.
