Artwork Description

A whirl of colour and movement fills the canvas as koi fish circle through deep water like living brushstrokes. Gold, coral, ivory and teal glide and turn, their bodies catching flashes of light as if the pond itself is breathing beneath them. The composition feels almost tidal, drawing the eye into a quiet vortex where motion and stillness coexist.

Layers of painterly marks suggest the shifting surface of water, ripples bending colour and form so that the fish appear both real and dreamlike. Some emerge clearly from the depths while others dissolve into shadow and reflection, creating a sense of mystery below the surface.

The painting captures a fleeting moment of life beneath the waterline, where colour, movement and light gather into a vibrant, meditative dance.
