The Nimbin Rocks ( the largest is called the Cathedral Rock,) are a large rock formation located just outside of Nimbin Village. They were formed around 22 million years ago in the ancient Tweed Volcano that is now the surrounding caldera. The started out as igneous veins of rhyolite magma that cooled within the cinder crust of the volcano before it collapsed leaving two large rock formations behind.
