Artwork Description

A friend of mine from QLD who is a bullocky. A great bloke to have a few drinks with after a hard day in the heat and dust. A kinda laidback bloke is Phil, as can be seen from his stance here. This is a large work, well detailed in the character, less so in the bullocks and with a realtively impressionist background. This helps the work to focus on the subject and then recede into the far distance.

Artist Bio

I am mostly self taught. For years I worked solely by commission but realised this was holding back my creativity. I still take occasional commissions but now produce works from my heart and imagination.

My preferred subjects are our native Australian animals, farming life and whatever takes my fancy! I diverge between absolute realism and whimsical cartoonish works depending on my mood on the day. Some works take half a day, some more than three weeks to complete.

My paintings are held in public and private collections in Australia, the USA, Canada, the UK and Saudi Arabia. The TAB commissioned a painting as a gift to their equivalents worldwide. Other works have featured on the front cover of Australian publications including Australian Artist magazine, the Arabian Horse News and the Animal Welfare League.

A book "Captured in Time" by Gigi Grasso is a sold out limited edition book of Arabian Horses in Australia. This work is liberally illustrated by me.
I exhibit works intermittently and have won many firsts, most successful exhibitor, and peoples choice awards.
