This piece is influenced by the majesty of the African Elephants. They are a symbol of loyalty, strength and resilience, even though they have encountered so much horror at the hand of mankind. I admire these amazing beauties, as they are not only the ancestor of the ancient order of Proboscidea, from 60million years ago, but they play a vital role in their environment by allowing plants and forests to regenerate naturally, as they migrate through them. They deserve to flourish and survive us all.

Artist Bio
As a talented and diverse underground artist, born and bred in Sydney, Ann-maree opted for a rural tree change and now calls the Central Coast, on the East Coast of Australia her home.
After spending the best part of three decades in a career of illustration and digital graphics within advertising, it was time to get back to basics. Inspired by her surroundings, Ann-maree loves to recreate scenery's of Mother Nature, that reflect the best part of our global existence.
From pastels to watercolours and mixing up acrylics and oils, animal and pet art has been a most enjoyable part of the migration from digital art back to hand drawn. Alongside animals, people are another delightful way to capture a memorable moment in families lives. The beauty of our environment however, never gets boring and will always remain hugely influential in my art.
