Influenced by the landscape around the historical mining areas of Ballarat. Much of the vegetation was eliminated by the chemicals used to separate gold from the ore. The result was often a barren landscape covered by huge boulders. This was a feature around the area originally occupied my the Midas Mines.

The square painting consists of three horizontal bands. The top and bottom bands are grey/green/blue in colour and represent the sky and water. The middle band represents the flora forms depicted by thick textures and natural colours the water band has a textured component which represents the connection with the flora to a water source.The top shows a narrow pale blue sky with a t shaped earth colored shape resting on a brown wavey line. the spaces in between are white.The square painting has three spaces in the form of bands. The top represents the sky and the bottom represents the land on which the bluff sits. The bluff is defined by white lineage.This painting is has three horizontal spaces.The top has an aqua sky and underneath the blue band is a highly textured area of scrub.The lower space is broken by white serpentine paths.
