Artwork Description

This piece, from my Kaleidoscope series, is a meditative exploration of color, texture, and pattern. "All the Stars of the Night" incorporates many layers of paint and collage, creating a rich tapestry that invites the viewer into a contemplative space. The intricate interplay of hues and textures mirrors the boundless expanse of the night sky.

All my paintings are finished with layers of varnish for bright colors and clear permanent protection for years. Each painting is one of a kind.

Artist Bio

Based in Sydney, Ann is a talented artist with a unique background. Originally trained as an optometrist, Ann pursued a passion for the visual arts by completing a degree in Fine Art in London.

With experience teaching life drawing, Ann has honed her skills in capturing the human form with precision and sensitivity. She has been selected as a finalist in both the prestigious Mosman and Blacktown Art Prizes.

Ann's current body of work is characterised by layers of acrylics, collage, and mixed media. This intricate layering process develops a richness that creates visually captivating pieces that explore colour and symmetry. Inspiration for these works comes from the colours and dynamic forms found in everyday surroundings and the natural world.

Ann's process often involves creating colour plays from paint and objects, photographing them and manipulating in Photoshop to create images that serve as a starting point for her canvases.
