Artwork Description

This evocative piece from the Kaleidoscope series blends the grounded hues of clay and terracotta with the purity of sky blue, creating a visual dialogue between earth and air. Soft, muted tones and textures suggest the passage of time—bleached and faded as though touched by sun and wind—while delicate jewels of color emerge subtly.

Shapes shift and merge, recalling both the fluidity of clouds and the structured lines of architecture.

The composition invites contemplation, pulling the viewer into its harmonious tension.

All my paintings are finished with layers of varnish for bright colors and clear permanent protection for years. Each painting is one of a kind.

Artist Bio

Based in Sydney, Ann is a talented artist with a unique background. Originally trained as an optometrist, Ann pursued a passion for the visual arts by completing a degree in Fine Art in London.

With experience teaching life drawing, Ann has honed her skills in capturing the human form with precision and sensitivity. She has been selected as a finalist in both the prestigious Mosman and Blacktown Art Prizes.

Ann's current body of work is characterised by layers of acrylics, collage, and mixed media. This intricate layering process develops a richness that creates visually captivating pieces that explore colour and symmetry. Inspiration for these works comes from the colours and dynamic forms found in everyday surroundings and the natural world.

Ann's process often involves creating colour plays from paint and objects, photographing them and manipulating in Photoshop to create images that serve as a starting point for her canvases.
