Artwork Description

The Hunting Fields of the Far South of Tasmania are our silent reminder of the ways of the Aboriginal people lead their life. The careful and gentle care they took of the land following its rules.

Artist Bio

Anna is a Tasmanian based artist with deep interest in nature and history. Her works are inspired by the local past and how it affects the landscape around us.

Born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia Anna has studied art for over a decade and has been working with many various media, eventually graduating with a diploma in Glass Art. And although glass remains her passion, painting has been her major for the last 10 years. The strict education has taught her that drawing and composition will always come first.

Her works have an emphasis on movement, color and detail. Inspired by the techniques of the French impressionists Anna attempts to depict the short moment in time which gives the viewer the feeling of being alive and present. She believes that an artists job is to show the details that often go unnoticed but bring so much beauty and meaning to our life.
