Artwork Description

'Her Last Book' is the third instalment of the 'Last Times' series, which depicts the meaningful moments in a person's life within a seemingly ordinary occasion. It is often in those moments where decisions are made - or made for us - and our lives turn in a new direction. 'Her Last Book' is inspired by one woman's story, however my aim is to inspire the viewer to imagine their own story behind the reader.
'Her Last Book' in print edition will be made to order, so please allow up to 5 working days for dispatch. The buyer can indicate whether the artwork comes with a border, and can request a different size (price will be adjusted accordingly). Please contact artist for a quote.
There is a limited edition of 150 Giclee Rag Paper Prints available in this edition. Print will come rolled in a tube, wrapped carefully in protective paper.
* Please note that colour may vary slightly from the images due to the printing process

Artist Bio

Anna Bektash is a self-taught visual artist living in Melbourne, Australia. She spent her childhood and early adult years living between Melbourne, the Yarra Valley and Oregon (USA). Anna has completed further education in the Arts, History, Education and Social Sciences. When not painting Anna is busy with her daughters, battling Lyme disease, surfing and daydreaming about painting. Growing up immersed in such a diverse landscape of bush, mountains, farms, coastline and urban life, Anna aims to reproduce these spaces in her work. She has a strong interest in human stories and the state of mind and heart, and has a particular interest in Mid Century design and the social environment of this era. These elements can be seen interwoven in her work. Anna likes to explore different styles of painting and intends to let the story or emotion determine how it is painted. She believes some subject matter deserve intricate details, whereas others are better expressed through the abstract. If you have a personal story or design idea you would like expressed through a painting Anna would love the opportunity to collaborate with you. Please feel free to get in touch via the Bluethumb link.We hope you enjoy Anna’s work as much as she’s loved created them!
